Each kit includes twelve stainless-steel Nyloc lock nuts, providing a complete hardware set for servicing the carburetor mounting points on one compatible multi-carb Mercury outboard.
 
Compared with the original-style jam nuts, these Nyloc nuts are generally easier to install and service. The nylon locking insert provides built-in resistance to vibration, eliminating the need to work with the thinner jam-nut arrangement while still helping maintain consistent clamping during operation.
 
Fits Mercury 2.0L, 2.4L, 2.5L & 3.0L Carbureted Engines
 
This 12-piece kit is intended for compatible carbureted Mercury V6 applications across the classic 2.0-liter, 2.4-liter, 2.5-liter and 3.0-liter two-stroke families.
 
Typical applications can include many 135, 150, 175, 200 and 225 HP Mercury and Mariner engines, including carbureted Black Max, XR2, XR4, XR6, Magnum, Pro Max and other performance V6 configurations where the carburetors are retained by threaded intake studs.
 
Because Mercury used several carburetor and intake arrangements over the years, verify the existing stud diameter, thread pitch and nut size before installation.
 
Easier Installation Than Original Jam Nuts
 
The original jam-nut style hardware can be more difficult to start, hold and tighten in the limited space around the carburetors and intake. The stainless Nyloc design uses a conventional full-height nut with an integrated locking insert, making the hardware easier to handle during carburetor removal and installation.
 
This is especially useful during repeated carburetor service, jet changes, intake work or complete powerhead rebuilding where access is limited.

Before installation, inspect each carburetor mounting stud for corrosion, damaged threads or previous over-tightening. Start every Nyloc nut by hand to prevent cross-threading.
 
Install the carburetors with the correct gaskets and tighten the nuts gradually and evenly. Use the Mercury service manual torque specification for the exact carburetor and intake configuration and avoid overtightening the carburetor bodies.
