Buckshot Racing #77, in collaboration with Code Red Racing & Design, introduces our Fused Carbon Cowling Rigging Tube Adapter Kits—engineered for clean, durable rigging on Mercury 2.5L and 3.0L performance outboards using Race Cowls and Alien Cowls. These adapters are designed for common legacy and performance engine families, including Mercury 2.5L EFI, 225 Pro Max, 260 ROS, 245 HP carb, and Mercury 3.0 Liter race applications.
 
Manufactured using fused carbon fiber 3D printing, these adapters are a direct-fit upgrade over the original plastic hardware and grommet-style rigging pass-through components. They are designed to replace Mercury OEM part numbers 840212 and 840213 (commonly referenced as 525-840212 and 840213) and deliver improved durability, precision fit, and a clean custom finish for high-performance rigging.
 
What the rigging tube adapter does
The rigging tube adapter mounts at the cowling rigging exit and provides a secure, clean interface for your 2-inch inner diameter (2" ID) rigging hose. It supports a tight, professional rigging layout while helping reduce movement, wear, and cracking that can occur with older plastic OEM parts—especially on motors that see vibration, heat, and repeated cowl removal.
 
Built from fused carbon fiber for strength and long-term reliability
Unlike traditional molded plastic parts, the fused carbon construction is designed to resist cracking, deformation, and wear. Two kit options, clearly explained
To make ordering easy, we offer two distinct versions depending on how your motor is rigged and whether you want a quick swap or an upgrade that avoids re-rigging.
 
1) The Standard Kit (Direct Replacement) is designed as a straightforward replacement for the original Mercury rigging tube hardware. It replaces the OEM plastic components and installs in the same general location for a clean, factory-style rigging exit on Race Cowls and Alien Cowls. This is the right choice if you’re already re-rigging, building from scratch, or don’t mind disconnecting components as needed during installation.
 
2) The Deluxe Kit (No De-Rig Install + 14-Pin Harness Clearance) is built for customers who want the cleanest upgrade with the least downtime. This version is split-designed so you can install it without having to de-rig the motor, making it ideal for finished boats where you don’t want to pull wiring and controls back through the cowling.
 
The split Deluxe version also provides fitment for the later-style 14-pin harness adapter commonly found on newer or updated Mercury rigging setups. If your motor uses the 14-pin harness adapter at the cowling rigging pass-through, the Deluxe Kit is the correct option to choose.

They are compatible with 2" ID rigging hose, whether you are replacing the OEM parts or building a custom rigging exit for an aftermarket cowling.
