Replacement Hydraulic Steering Cylinders for Worn SeaStar & UFlex Systems
Pro 350 (Up to 350 HP) • Pro 700 (Up to 700 HP) • Ready to Mount
If your hydraulic steering has started to feel sloppy, inconsistent, or harder to control—especially at speed—your cylinder may be telling you it’s time. Many performance outboard owners run SeaStar or UFlex hydraulic steering, and after enough hours, heat cycles, and exposure to salt/moisture, the system can develop symptoms like steering play, uneven feel from lock-to-lock, seepage at seals, or a wheel that doesn’t feel as crisp as it used to.
Our Pro Hydraulic Steering Outboard Cylinders are designed as replacement cylinders for worn SeaStar and UFlex-style systems, giving you a complete, ready-to-mount solution when you want to restore steering confidence without piecing together parts.
Why Replace the Cylinder in a SeaStar or UFlex Setup?
The steering cylinder is the working component that sees constant motion and load. Over time, normal wear can show up as increased free-play, reduced holding ability, fluid leaks, or a “notchy” feel. Even if the helm and hoses are still in good shape, a tired cylinder can make the whole steering system feel worn out.
Replacing the cylinder is often the most direct way to bring back that tight, predictable steering feel—especially on performance outboards where torque steer, trim changes, and higher speeds magnify every little weakness.
Built as a Replacement and Upgrade
Our cylinders are shipped complete and ready to mount, and they’re used as core components in our Pro Steering Systems. They’re also designed to interchange with many SeaStar and UFlex steering configurations, which helps when you’re replacing a worn cylinder but want to keep the rest of your system intact.
Because SeaStar and UFlex setups can vary by helm type, hose/fitting style, and mounting configuration, the best practice is to match your replacement based on your existing cylinder style and connections.
Two Options Based on Outboard Horsepower:
Pro 350 Hydraulic Steering Cylinder (Up to 350 HP Outboards)
The Pro 350 cylinder is built for outboards rated up to 350 horsepower, making it a strong choice for many single-outboard performance boats. If you’re replacing a worn SeaStar or UFlex cylinder on a boat in this power range, the Pro 350 is designed to restore smooth, controlled steering with less effort at the wheel and reduced steering fatigue—especially during long days or higher-speed driving.
Pro 700 Hydraulic Steering Cylinder (Up to 700 HP Outboards)
The Pro 700 cylinder is designed for applications rated up to 700 horsepower, where steering loads can be significantly higher and the need for stability and control becomes even more critical. If you’re running high-horsepower performance, aggressive setups, or want extra margin for demanding conditions, the Pro 700 gives you the capability needed to keep steering precise and confidence-inspiring.
What You’ll Notice After Replacing a Worn Cylinder
When the replacement cylinder is correctly matched and installed, most owners notice the steering feels more consistent through the full range of motion, the wheel requires less “fight” during torque load, and the boat feels easier to keep settled when trimming and accelerating.
It’s one of those upgrades that improves both comfort and control—especially when you’re already used to compensating for a worn system.
