For uncompromising durability in saltwater and freshwater environments, the entire wire is jacketed in 100% pure silicone. This high-temperature silicone outer layer is resistant to fuel, oil, UV rays, and vibration, ensuring years of trouble-free operation without cracking, splitting, or degrading like inferior rubber materials.
 
What sets these wires apart is their fit and finish. Each comes equipped with MSD-style 180-degree old-style bell boots, molded from high-temp silicone for a snug, vibration-resistant fit onto the legacy Mercury ignition coil with the larger socket-style terminals. These wires also incorporate advanced MSD Dual Crimp Terminals—the same style used in professional racing applications. The terminals feature two independent crimp zones: large crimp tabs to firmly grasp the conductor sleeve, and separate tabs that securely lock onto the conductor core.
 
The included stainless steel “Click-Lock” retention tab guarantees that the terminal stays tightly in place, even in high-vibration marine environments. This eliminates the need to bend the wire 180°, reducing internal stress and providing a more secure, efficient electrical connection with less risk of arcing or misfire.
