The Buckshot Racing #77 Quick Release Latch Lid Hood Pins are a simple, durable solution for securing hatches, lids, doors, canopies, cowlings, access panels, and lightweight body panels in marine, racing, and performance applications.

Each pin is precision-machined from 6061 aluminum, finished in black anodizing, and supplied with M10 stainless-steel thin nuts and stainless washers for a clean, corrosion-resistant installation.

Designed and made in the USA by Buckshot Racing #77, these universal latch pins are compact, strong, easy to service, and well suited for boats, race boats, engine cowlings, hatch covers, and other applications where a removable panel must stay securely closed but still be quick to release.

Compact Universal Dimensions

Each latch pin measures approximately 2-3/4 inches long (including the 1-3/8 inches of threaded adjustment) and 7/16 inch thick, making it compact enough for tight installations while still providing a substantial mounting surface.

The threaded body uses M10 hardware, and the kit includes thin stainless-steel nuts and washers that work well where clearance behind the mounting panel is limited.

The pin is designed to accept a 1/4-inch torsion Lynch pin clip, allowing the retained panel to be secured or released quickly without tools.

Billet 6061 Aluminum Construction

The latch body is CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum, a material commonly used in marine and racing components because it combines low weight, good strength, and excellent machinability.

The black anodized finish adds surface protection and gives the hardware a clean, professional appearance that works well on black, carbon, painted, or polished panels.

Compared with ordinary zinc-plated utility hardware, the combination of billet aluminum and stainless mounting hardware is better suited to marine environments where moisture, spray, and corrosion are constant concerns.

Stainless M10 Mounting Hardware

Each Buckshot Racing #77 one (1) quick-release pin is supplied with two (2) M10 stainless thin nuts and two (2) stainless washers.

The thin-nut design is useful when mounting through fiberglass, aluminum, sheet metal, composite panels, or brackets where a full-height conventional nut may take up unnecessary space.

The washer helps spread the clamping load across the mounting surface and gives the installation a cleaner finished appearance.

Accepts a 1/4" Torsion Lynch Pin Clip

The end of the latch pin is designed for a 1/4-inch torsion Lynch pin clip, giving the assembly its quick-release function.

Once the hatch, lid, or cowling is positioned over the pin, the Lynch pin clip installs through the retaining hole to lock the panel in place. Removal is equally simple: release the clip, pull it free, and lift or open the panel.

This makes the system useful anywhere frequent access is required, but a secure mechanical latch is still important.

Marine, Racing & General-Purpose Applications

These universal latch pins can be used to secure many types of removable or hinged components.

Common applications include marine hatches, engine cowlings, racing cowlings, hood panels, access doors, deck lids, storage lids, canopies, equipment covers, and lightweight removable panels.

They are especially useful on performance boats, tunnel boats, drag boats, offshore boats, custom marine builds, and race applications where simple, positive retention and fast access are important.

Because the pins are universal, fitment depends on the panel thickness, bracket design, mounting location, and required pin engagement rather than a specific boat or engine model.

Buckshot Racing #77 Installation Tech Tip

Choose a mounting location where the pin can pass cleanly through the mating panel without side-loading.

Drill the mounting hole square to the bracket or panel, install the stainless washer and M10 thin nut, and tighten the assembly securely without crushing fiberglass or composite material.

When setting the mating hole in the hatch or lid, allow enough clearance for easy alignment while keeping the fit tight enough to prevent excessive movement or rattling.

If the hardware is being used on a high-speed race boat or engine cowling, inspect the pin, retaining clip, and mounting surface regularly as part of normal pre-race or pre-run maintenance.

The Buckshot Racing #77 Quick Release Latch Lid Hood Pin is a compact, lightweight, and professional retention solution for marine and performance applications. With billet 6061 aluminum construction, black anodizing, M10 stainless hardware, and compatibility with 1/4-inch torsion Lynch pin clips, it provides a strong, simple way to keep hatches, lids, doors, canopies, and cowlings securely closed while still allowing fast access.
