The TechMate Pro DDT, proudly made in the USA and offered by Buckshot Racing #77, is the next-generation marine diagnostic tool designed to replace the now-discontinued Mercury Digital Diagnostic Tool (DDT). Our DDT tool is designed and manufactured by the same company that created the original Mercury OEM Scan Tool.

 

With unparalleled capabilities, it is engineered to diagnose, maintain, and optimize Mercury Marine and Racing Outboards for DIY mechanics, high-performance tuners, racers, professional mechanics, and crew chiefs.

 

Fault Code Reading and Clearing: The system retrieves error codes stored in the ECU memory, offering detailed descriptions for precise troubleshooting. Users can clear codes once the issue is resolved.

 

Live Data Monitoring: Real-time data such as RPM, temperature, throttle position, and sensor feedback is displayed, enabling dynamic analysis of engine performance during operation.

The TechMate Pro DDT delivers a suite of advanced diagnostic tools for precise engine analysis and troubleshooting:

 

Injector and Ignition Testing: Allows technicians to test individual fuel injectors and ignition coils to verify functionality and identify faulty components in the fuel and ignition systems.

 

Power Balance and Induced Misfire Testing: Temporarily disable specific cylinders, helping technicians assess their contribution to overall engine power and identify underperforming or non-functional cylinders.

 

Throttle Control and Actuator Testing: Adjusts electronic throttle positions incrementally and monitors real-time feedback from the throttle position sensor (TPS). This ensures accurate throttle response and system performance.

 

Output Verification: Test various actuators and relays, such as fuel pumps, warning horns, and boost valves (if applicable), confirming their proper operation.

 

Freeze Frame and Fault History Analysis: Snapshots of engine conditions at the time a fault occurred, aiding in the diagnosis of intermittent or historical issues.

 

RPM and Operating History Logging: Retrieves engine run-time data across specific RPM ranges, offering insights into usage patterns, potential wear, and performance characteristics.

 

Reset Functions: Adapted values, such as fuel trims and oxygen sensor data, can be cleared to restore factory defaults after repairs or component replacements.

The TechMate Pro DDT is designed to deliver all the diagnostic tests and functions described here, but the availability of specific features depends on the outboard motor's electronic control system and hardware. Not all functions apply to every motor, as some engines lack the sensors or components required to support certain tests.

 

However, where and if the capability exists within the engine, the TechMate Pro DDT will fully diagnose, test, and reset as described, ensuring maximum utility across a broad range of models.
